Our story
The name Tradish comes from tradition, but also from a desire to keep things light and real. For us, traditions are not about things sitting quietly in the background. They are about the moments that shape families and friendships — the laughter, the photographs, the small details that carry meaning far longer than the season itself.
In South Africa, it was not always easy to find pieces that felt personal or lasting. The kind you see in films, stitched with names or made to hold memories year after year, simply did not exist in the way we imagined them. Out of that gap, a need became a necessity, and a necessity became creation. Tradish was born to make something we ourselves had been searching for.
Our embroidered stockings are where we chose to begin, because Christmas and the holidays hold a special kind of magic. They are markers of time, moments of gathering, and reminders that family is both inherited and chosen. But stockings are just one part of the vision. Our hope is to grow into more pieces that mark celebrations across every walk of life, keepsakes that belong at birthdays, new beginnings, and milestones of every kind.
Because in the end, traditions are not about a date on the calendar. They are about the people who gather, the memories they share, and the little things that somehow become the most important. A Tradish piece is not just for one morning or one holiday. It is for every year that follows, every memory that builds, and every story that becomes part of your family’s fabric.
